This week’s Six Sentence Sunday is from my fantasy novel Tyrant Moon, which features a pacifist wizard and a barbarian warrior woman who have to work together to stop a rogue mage. In this scene, our heroine comes to an important realization.
He stood with one hand stretched out, as if he had thought to restrain her. There was pain in his intense, wine-yellow eyes, as if everything in him gathered itself to plead with her: Don’t leave me.
I would never leave you, she thought, surprised. I love you.
The world changed, as if the angle of the sun had suddenly shifted, showing her things she had never before seen. For the first time in her life, everything made sense.
Tyrant Moon is available for the Kindle, Nook, and in hardback and paperback.
Your last line actually brought tears to my eyes~!
Beautiful, sweet, and endearing. In a work, Awe.
Very moving six. Great job!
Oh, I love the whole last paragraph. “The world changed as if the sun had shifted.” Wonderful.
Wonderfully descriptive and emotional. Well done.
Love the emotion you showed.
What a lovely romantic scene! And I liked “wine-yellow.” It made me double-read, but in a good way.
Lovely, evocative six.
Great six!
Thanks for sharing.
All my best,
